In 2375, the Anansi was assigned to deliver analysing technology to the Pandora facility. After arriving there, the ship was attacked and damaged by the facility's satellite defense array, which had been commandeered by Axael Krinn. Ezri Dax later boarded the Anansi to help the crew stop Krinn. (DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "Chiaroscuro") The Anansi was probably named for the African figure Anansi.
