[Source] Lightsaber training staffs were staffs used in the place of real lightsabers by Jedi Padawans who had not yet constructed their own blades. The Human Jedi Initiate Petro practiced with a training staff while he was on board the Jedi training cruiser Crucible, deflecting shots from a Marksman-H combat remote and then showing his fellow trainees an original move he had created named the "Whirlwind of Destiny".
