Wintersun was a noble house of Cormyr. Their holdings were mostly in Cormyr's back country and they were considered backwater hicks by most other noble families. After the Abraxus affair in 1369 DR the family began buying properties in Suzail in an effort to seem more cosmopolitan and by the late 15th century DR was the largest landlord in the city. The Wintersuns were allied with House Dracohorn and House Illance.
