Zeug was the sire of Staff and the king of the Staff race just preceding his race's destruction at the hands of the Coordination. Unlike Pharanôz and Staff and despite the otherwise overwhelmingly uniform appearance of his race in their "free-flowing" form, Zeug did not sport the characteristic yellow "drop" shape on top of his head, but instead was "bald", with his head topped by a green "dome" like a bald human head would be shaped. By the time of the Coordinate invasion of the Staff homeworld, he was already of advanced age (although age does not mean senescence for the Staff race) and acted mellow and wise, unlike his hot-headed offspring. He seemed to be neither very ambitious nor exceptional. Nothing else is known about him.
