Companhia Brasileira de Tratores, or CBT, was founded in São Carlos, Brazil in about 1959. CBT built tractors and SUVs similar to Jeeps. It went bankrupt in about 1999. The early tractors were based on designs licensed from Oliver and were initially sold under the Oliver brand and later under the CBT Oliver or Oliver-CBT brands for a while. In 1961, a new factory in San Carlos began churning out the 'CBT tractors. From 1990 until 1994, CBT manufactured the CBT Javali, a Jeep-like vehicle. In 1997, CBT went bankrupt and closed down.
