Richard P. Woolsey is a former agent of the NID and also the International Oversight Advisory, serving as the United States representative. Despite being an enemy at first, Woolsey later gained respect for Stargate Command and the SGC's flagship team, SG-1, becoming an essential ally. In July 2008, after Colonel Samantha Carter was reassigned, Woolsey became the new leader of the Atlantis expedition, a position he holds to this day.
