Phoebe got a premonition of him being killed, and the Charmed Ones accosted him at work and took him to the manor for safekeeping. Hours later, after the sisters were inadvertently outed as witches on live television, they realized Shax might take another run at Griffiths. Prue and Piper rushed back to the hospital to get him. Just as they were bundling him into Prue's car, Shax blew in again, and Prue and Piper repelled him with the spell.
