Tarod IX was a planet located in the Tarod system, with a Federation outpost located on it. The USS Enterprise-D’s tour of destroyed outposts in Sector 30 stopped here. On its way to the next base after this one, the Enterprise-D encountered a D’deridex-class Warbird. This led to the attack being attributed to the Romulans but it was later discovered that the Borg had done it.
