The initiative launched in February 2009; and led to the production of a full Nigerian co-production announced in December 2009, Sesame Square. Sesame Workshop received a $500,000 grant from The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Presidents Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to develop the original videos and workbooks.
