The Lesser Prairie Chicken is a species from the Tympanuchus genus of the Phasianidae family. It is found in Western Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and the Llano Estacado of Texas and Eastern New Mexico, and also rarely in Southeastern Colorado, and Western Kansas.
