The Spellshard is an item first featured in the 3.5 edition's Eberron Campaign Setting and again in the 4th edition's Eberron Player's Guide. The item is used by wizards as a substitute to spell books and scrolls to store spells. A spellshard is about the size of a human fist and can store the equivalent of 20 pages of spells. Copying a spell into a shard takes 24 hours and requires the wizard to cast the arcane mark spell. This unique application of arcane mark requires 100gp per page of powdered silver in components cost. The spell appears as silvery writing within the swirling colours of the shard.
