Yoshimi Sakanaka (阪中 佳実 Sakanaka Yoshimi) was a student at North High in Kyon and Haruhi Suzumiya's Class 1-5 in year 0. Her family is very wealthy. She is a member of the chorus and wanted to make friends with Suzumiya. She is friends with Nanaka Onogi, Ayano Naruzaki and Mizuho Saeki. Kyon was only vaguely aware of her, knowing her only by her surname Sakanaka ('阪中). He noticed her playing volleyball with Suzumiya. When the SOS Brigade distributed flyers, she collected one.
