The Plasma Lance was a light beam weapon. Based on cutting beams used on mining ships, the Plasma Lance became an effective weapon used in Vaygr pirate raids. When the Vaygr War came, the former pirate tribes united and the Lance Fighter became one of the most successful Vaygr designs. The Lance was very effective against both strike craft and Capital Ships thanks to its exceptional rate of fire and relatively high damage dealt with each blast, but its greatest strength was against Corvettes; these larger craft are unable to maneuver enough to avoid their fire, nor could they handle such significant damage.
