The vennal is a nimble, playful, tree-dwelling xenoc animal, native to the jungle continent of Amarisk on the planet Lalonde. Small, sociable and very fast-moving, it is similar in nature to a terrestrial monkey or squirrel. Like the sayce, another native of Amarisk, the vennal has a triangular head and a scaly hide. Blue-green in colour, the vennal is perfectly camouflaged against a background of jungle vegetation; its protective coloration and speed, plus the fact that it spends most of its time high up in the forest canopy, ensures its safety from predators.
