MUVE, An acronym for Multi User Virtual Environment, a term created for muds that supported multimedia features such as sound playback or WWW links. The term was also expected to stretch to 3d virtual worlds such as The Palace or ActiveWorlds, which were not muds per se. Among muds classified as MUVEs by some are * MOOse Crossing * TappedIn The term has not been widely adopted, as Virtual world is used more commonly today.
