Gambrin was born to a poor family which came from Bosnia to Lovia in the 1940s. His father, Edin was a worker at the Zlate mine and his mother worked at a meatshop. It was by chance that FK Galactic Hurbanova was hiring players and he went to try out. Impressed by his raw talent, the team signed him on in 1982 for a 4-year contract. He quickly became the star of the age, helping his team win the LFA Supercup in 1982 and 1986. He was awarded the Masters Cup in 1985 and 1986. Late that year he decided to join Sheckin Lads. He played brilliantly for them and in 1988 helped his team win the Supercup. He was also awarded the Masters Cup that year for getting an impressive 11 goals in 9 matches, a feat only equalled by Stefan Kamphuis in 1999. Grambin was injured in early 1989 and was sidelined.
