The Jack and Pasty is a shop at the Nightmarket of the Lower City of Corus. It is the oldest place for food and drink there. It was built of stone and roofed of slate. The Jack and Pasty was used as a refuge during the Bread Riot as it was one of the few shops solid enough to provide efficient shelter. Hansevor Remy guarded the entrance to it while Dale Rowan went through the crowd to find innocent bystanders in need of protection. To ensure even better protection the windows were barred and shut then. When Matthias Tunstall got his legs broken he, Clara Goodwin and Rebakah Cooper also went into the Jack and Pasty.
