Lieutenant Heaton was a female Starfleet engineer in the 24th century. Soon after transferring to the USS Enterprise-E in 2379, she was part of the search and rescue team which beamed aboard the Klingon ship IKS Taj after it had been severely damaged by the nadion-pulse cannons of Tezwa. Not long after this, she was part of the Bravo team sent to Tezwa's Solasook Peninsula under Lieutenant Commander Data. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)
