Alton Jones (August 27, 1941 - ) is a former NASCAR driver from Pleasant Grove, AL. He competed in thirteen Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning four top-tens. Jones' debut came in 1970, when he competed at Talladega. Starting 39th in the field of forty, Jones lost his engine late in the event but still finished 24th. Finally, Jones closed out his career in 1975, racing in both Nashville events. It was a good choice for Jones, who finished 6th in the spring event and twelvth in the June event, his career finale.
