When approached from the city, the river was crossed via Maiten River Bridge which lay in-between the shantytown outside the walls of the Gadrobi district and the Gadrobi Herder camps on the other side of the river. A subterranean stream carried effluents and wastes from the Eldra Iron Mongers into the river giving Brownrun Bay its name.
