New York Mercy Hospital is a fictional hospital in Manhattan, New York, which is often used as a location in the series. It is where Eric Foreman headed up his own diagnostic department for four weeks in Season 4. It is also where James Wilson's brother Danny Wilson is being treated for his schizophrenia. Gregory House has a poor opinion of the place, believing it is where one goes to treat minor illnesses for rich patients while building a retirement account. When Dr. Foreman worked there, Dr. Schaffer was the chief of medicine and his immediate superior.
