"Phazon Burrowers" are Burrowers that have been corrupted by Phazon. They are unused creatures in Metroid Prime. The game's files contain only one instance of this enemy, which was intended to be placed in Crater Tunnel B of the Impact Crater, in the center of the room's pit of Red Phazon. The Phazon Burrower does have scan data associated with it, but it simply reuses the scan for regular Burrowers. The reason for its removal is unknown. : Non-canonical information ends here.
