OpenXLS Java Spreadsheet Platform initially created by Extentech Inc. OpenXLS was released under the LGPL license, but support and maintenance from the company has since ceased. The LGPL code has been copied to Github and the project is under active development (Feb 2014). OpenXLS allows for advanced Java spreadsheet functionality in applications such as: importing data from XLS spreadsheet files, exporting into spreadsheet reports, implementing charts, images, VB[what version?] code, and keeping all the features of Excel intact.
