Non-alcoholic or de-alcoholized wine may legally contain up to ½ of 1 percent alcohol. Like conventional wine, non-alcoholic wine is made from fermented grapes. The resulting alcohol may be removed by either a cold filtration process, which leaves all of the natural flavors of the grapes intact, or by heating the wine to evaporate the alcohol, which can alter and impair the original flavors. No fermented grape product can be altered to be 100% alcohol-free.
