The Second Battle of Ossus was the decisive battle of the Second Galactic Civil War. The Third Galactic Empire and the Second Rebel Alliance collided near the planet. The Imperial Fleet was spread in a thin defensive line that was flexible. The Alliance formed their ships in a large compact mass and hit the fleet hard, splitting it in two, and defeated each half in detail. The Third Imperial Fleet was routed after seven hours of intense space combat.
