Lamar Addison is the father-in-law of NCIS Director Leon Vance, the father of Leon's deceased wife, Jackie Vance and grandfather to Kayla Vance and Jared Vance. In December 2013, after Jackie died, Lamar attempted to establish a connection with his grandchildren and son-in-law as a way to make amends for abandoning Jackie when she was young although Vance strongly objected. Vance eventually relented and introduced his children to Lamar with Lamar being left greatly overwhelmed at meeting his own grandchildren for the very first time.
