The Common Linnets are a Dutch country-pop group formed in 2013. Founding members Ilse DeLange and Waylon knew each other before the band's founding. They take their name from the word heikneuters, people from the eastern part of the Netherlands where both Ilse and Waylon are from. It is a reference to the songbird kneu, known in English as a common linnet. Waylon has since left the group to embark on a solo career.
