The scam was done as a rivalry to The Eds garage sale across the street. The scam was far more successful than The Eds garage sale as almost all the kids showed up, and Rolf even gave him $20 (along with two carrots and a turnip). The scam sold junk that was as relatively trivial as The Eds garage sale, but it was advertised as "Better 'N Eddy's." After witnessing the enormous success, Eddy became furious and decided to launch an investigation on Kevin in order to see why he was smarter than them.
