Travel pod 05 was a Federation travel pod that was in service with Starfleet in the late 23rd century, attached to the various orbital docking facilities in orbit above Earth. In the 2270s, travel pod 05 was used to ferry Admiral James T. Kirk and Commander Montgomery Scott from the orbital office complex to the refit USS Enterprise. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture) A year later, travel pod 05 was used again to transport Captains Kirk, Scott, and Spock, and Commanders Pavel Chekov, McCoy, Sulu and Uhura, to the newly commissioned USS Enterprise-A.
