It is mentioned only twice in the Light Novel series. It is first mentioned after the incident that happened during the First High vs Fourth High Monolith Code match. Saegusa Mayumi mentions that the Nine Schools Competition personnel used it to lessen the severity of the injuries the players suffered after the Battering Ram attack. It is mentioned for the second time when Ichijou Masaki and Kichijouji Shinkurou discussed the first Monolith Code match Shiba Tatsuya participated in.
