The duties of the Committee included the appointment of a new Praetor and also served as a court to judge a member of the senate in regards to criminal matters. The Praetor is the only member who is guaranteed a seat on the Committee; all others, even high ranking officials such as the leader of the Tal Shiar, must compete to be allowed in.
