Literally "Moon Fang Heaven Slicer", it is an arc of reiatsu (spirit energy) Ichigo throws from the blade of his sword to strike enemies; it is in the vague shape of a crescent moon and comes from his sword Zangetsu ("Moon Cutter"), thus the name. It is blue reiatsu in its shikai form, black and red when Ichigo is in bankai state.
