The Shrine to Ikoma Kyube, the founder of the Hosokawa family, was located near the center of Hosokawa Mura. It was immaculate, and rarely without visitors. Ikoma Kyube's wakizashi and original jour­nals were enshrined there. Chiseled in the stone were the words, "Truth is shaped by the witness".
