The Four Sultanates appear in in-universe historiography as turcogerman muslim and Turkish nationalist monarchies that were established on Terra, in Germany, during the 21st century. Each of these states was ruled by a turkish gang leader styled "sultan". The four sultanates were named by geographic direction; The Northern Sultanate occupied northern Lower Saxony and the entire German coast between the Netherlands and Denmark. The Northern Sultanate lost almost all of its coastal territory to "Hamite" mercenaries hired by the New German Republic. The Eastern Sultanate, the weakest of the four, occupied a narrow strip of land between the Western Sultanate and the New German Republic and suffered ravagement by frequent incursions by the latter.
