The 1961-07 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Asheville-Weaverville Speedway on March 5, 1961. Rex White led wire-to-wire, all 200 laps, but had to hold off Cotton Owens by six seconds for the victory. It was White's first win of the year. Eventual 1961 champ Ned Jarrett finished 5th. Stats
