The Shaman of the Pygmies of Fire Island is a magically powerful individual. The feather is a symbol of peace for the Shaman and thus he wears feathers in his hair. The Shaman lives a solitary existence away from other natives, practising his elemental craft. To share his magic one must earn the right from the Shaman, no matter how noble one's cause. To find the Shaman a gift must be placed into the Circle of Polished Stones to attempt to light the way to the Shaman. If accepted then a line of rocks turn red and leads the seeker of the Shaman to the Shaman.
