The Nyx is an extremely tough B.O.W. and is very hard to kill even when using magnums and rocket launchers. Often it needs to be defeated by using the indestructible Combat Knife when the player has expended all his/her ammo. It's recommended to use Cindy Lennox for this tactic due to her ability to dodge every attack. Nyx is also capable of absorbing any unlucky survivor should they be in its way, this will likely involve the survivor getting killed. Nyx's weak point is actually its heart which will open after the monster has suffered much damage. Using the magnum to inflict damage on the creature's heart will kill it in five to six shots.
