Daeron's Runes or Angerthas Daeron were invented by King Thingol's minstrel and loremaster Daeron sometime during the First Age in Menegroth. By his own people, Daeron's Runes were considered to be fairly simple, however, the Dwarves held Daeron to be a genius and adopted his invention of the Cirth and passed it down through the ages, most notably in Moria.
