The Griffons Alliance was a small martial government formalized promptly after the Battle of Endor as a means of safeguarding freedom (to its members) and people's ability to mind their own defence. This group operated as an oligarchy, with government directed by equal tribes called stands, headed by an Armiger. They formed an intricate, heavily-martialized society that could best be described as "military socialism" in nature. They were able to draw their populace from many of the Colonies and Core Worlds and employ "Old World" values with exceptional technology. Because of their limited population, a great deal of automation was installed in their day to day life, as each and every member of the society had some kind of connection to military service.
