The Sergeant was in charge of police proceedings when several emergency personnel were deployed to Coronation Street in March 2005 following the discovery of Tommy Harris's body inside Websters' Auto Centre. In April 2008, the Sergeant collected David Platt from the cells at Weatherfield Police Station after he was detained overnight following his rampage on the Street. David was escorted to the front desk where he was read out a list of charges which included several counts of criminal damage and the assault of an on-scene police officer.
