When the planet was discovered in 500 BBY, its port rights were sold to the Klatooinian Trade Guild. The planet was the headquarters of Treeker Security Systems, Boyd's Be-There-In-A-Minute Delivery Service and Chirrit & Chirrit Locks, Vaults, and Safes. During the Clone Wars, the planet was the site of the First Battle of Plagen. Prior to the battle, a tactical droid killed Kerkoiden General Piar Nagelsa, due to issues most tactical droids had with serving under organic leaders, and then discarded the general's plans—leading the Separatist forces to victory.
