Calanara was a planet within Federation space. It was one of the first worlds that was colonized by the Vulcan race and served as a private preserve for Vulcan citizens; both past and present. The majority of Calanara was parcelled into large tracts that Vulcan's government awarded to those who showed scientific or social achievement. By the northern hemisphere was a special memorial center which housed a state owned burial ground for Vulcan's honored dead. Among those interred here included the philosopher Surak whose remains were transported to Calanara following its colonization. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)
