Darren Baldwin, otherwise known as Smoke for his hazel-grey eye color, was a UNSC Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. On many occasions, he would parachute to "cold" combat zones before engaging the enemy. On one such occasion, Smoke accidentally strayed away from his strike force via updraft in midair and landed near the position of Major General James Corbett.
