The Blood Souls were a pirate group operating south of the Black Star Confederacy. They commanded a decent-sized fleet of old ships and sub-standard fighters, yet still posed a threat to the power balance in the area. The Blood Souls were led by Tjermon Kale, a former Confederate Navy Captain who defected in 7 ABY. His command ensured that the pirates largely stayed away from Confederate shipping, in order to avoid incurring Confederate wrath. Nevertheless, they lost several systems to Confederate aggression prior to 16 ABY.
