The Breast Plate is the basic of the Plate Armors. While it is the lightest plate armor type in the game, it is also less protective than the Splint Mail which is the strongest Mail. The Breast Plate is the only Plate Armor which Rogues and Sorcerers can equip without aid from Magical Items.
