Common is the lingua franca of Gloriana. In every location the Hero visits, he will find that either everyone civilized speaks Common, or at least that enough people will speak Common that he can get by. In most cities, merchants will speak Common, even if the citizen populace doesn't speak it generally. Many realms, even those who have accepted Common as the official language, will still contain traces of their local language, either through accents or through naming.
