Maria is the vampire who changed Jasper, and a major participant in the GSVW. She had "Mexican looking features" but in a demonstration of how totally non racist the books are, she had become white on becoming a Meyerpire. She had a tendency to betray people, and only failed to betray and kill Jasper because he left first. She also changed 2 other girls-Lucy and Nettie.
