Jude Cronk ran a cancer support group that Hayley Cropper attended in October 2013. She and Roy came into the group's centre for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the amenities and group sessions on offer and, alongside Jude, met terminal cancer patient Jane Rayner who surprised them both with her humourous attitude towards her condition. Roy, unable to put his occupation to one side for a moment, asked Jude why a display of cakes were uncovered and was asked if he worked in environmental health. Jude then fetched refreshments while Roy and Hayley talked to Jane and her husband Jeff about how they dealt with Jane's condition.
