This poor little fellow had a bad case of insomnia, and a mouthache to boot. He couldn't sleep because a pearl was causing pain in its shell. Alexander couldn't stand seeing the little guy in pain. He read the boring book to it, causing it to yawn so he could remove the pearl. The Oyster thanked him and then dozed off.
