He played senior hockey in Canmore, Alberta. The Vancouver Maroons signed him as a free agent in 1924 and Reinikka stayed there until the team folded in 1926. He was sold to the New York Rangers but did not score a point in 16 games played for them in 1926-27. Reinikka played in the minor pros until 1932. In 1934, he began a three-year comeback with the Rossland Miners of the West Kootenay League. He finally retired in 1937.
